The Hermitage of Santa Rosalia at the Quisquina rises around 5 [km] from the inhabited center, absorbed in a secular oak wood turned to North that reasonably is to the origin of the Quisquina name, from the Arabic koskin = dark. The cult has had origin in the 1624 to the recovery of the cave and of the epigraph that testified the presence in hermitage of Santa Rosalia. The buildings whole developed gradually lens the mountain forming a group of constructions that are an admirable example of architecture integrated in the natural environment; to the inside, despite the repeated violations,they are present frescoes, burlaps, church furnishingses, the rich archives, and above all an altar with mosaics in colourfull marbles constructed, works realized by artists of remarkable thickness (Phillip Pennino, the Manno brothers, Fred Panepinto, the Musca brothers); the Church has also enriched from works of local artists. The celebrations in honor of the Santuzza happen in June.
